Security Tip: Online Shopping

Take care to avoid surprising yourself with your pants down, so to speak. Always check for the locked padlock in your browser's URL as you're shopping online, and especially as you're making purchases.

I was browsing around a couple of sites simultaneously that I use all the time, for buying and selling. Some fluke happenstance caused me to notice that there was no padlock in the usual space . . . not even the unlocked version. When this happens to you, finish what you have to and log out. Singing in again will re-secure your connection under most circumstances.
