A Look at Vintage vs Retro

Vintage and retro are terms constantly used in modern trade, but do you really know the difference? For years, I had been under the impression that products from the 1950s-60s were retro, while 70s & 80s decades were vintage.

The confusion was understandable. My generational peers were likely in frequent exposure of retro products during the 70s & 80s . . . a time during which the manufacture of products may not have been foremost in our minds as young people; and so, when we saw something called "retro" and it looked like something our parents would appreciate, then it was simply retro . . . from that time. Right?!

Well, it turns out that I/we haven't been completely wrong. Retro can be simply an 'old' product or item, as seen in the video below. There's a little more to it, though: Vintage vs Retro
