We're a blog dedicated to thrifting. Shufflethrift goals are to meet measures that ensure items reach destinations at which they are needed and valued.

What is thrift?

Thrift or Sea Pink flowers grow in rocky shore

Like the perennial flower, thrift in economics is a description of financial hardiness. One may be thrifty by choice or by chance, and there can be great benefit from studying thrift and applying thriftiness to our lives in reasonable ways.

Thrift is a Flower

Thrift is a flower that grows despite harsh conditions. Also known at Sea Pink, sometimes this plant quietly survives, and under better circumstances it blooms and thrives in sparse conditions. Thrifts are often used in edging, and gardening due to their hardy and attractive nature.

Thrift is Valuable

Today's economy has seriously affected values on some items. We won't say "adversely", because it isn't always the case. Furniture tends down in value, while other items are steady and some are way up. Follow our blog for more information and updates of value.

Thrift is Fun

A lot of us have a preference. Some practice thrift by avid collection (w/ potential resale value) of brand items, e.g. Pez, Disney or Coca-Cola. Then we have our more casual thrifters of almost any item. These folks have a keen eye for value in general and enjoy bargaining many types of items. Still others prefer auctions and others run shops or attend/vend at flea markets. It's an expansive field of interests and opportunity.
